POVLOG Privacy Policy

VAULT LLC (合同会社VAULT; "we") establishes this Privacy Policy ("Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information and data in "POVLOG" ("the Service").

1. Business operator

2. Information we collect

  • Account identifier / display name: no registration is required, but we collect an anonymous identifier for service delivery and the display name the user sets.
  • Sign-in info (optional): if the user signs in with "Sign in with Apple" or Google, we collect an authentication identifier, email address, and name (if provided). If the user chooses Apple's Hide My Email, we receive the private relay address Apple provides. Sign-in is used to carry over purchases, etc.
  • Content shot/generated by the user: video clips, photos, generated videos, and metadata such as capture date/time.
  • Device info: device type, OS version, app version, device identifier (e.g., IDFV).
  • Usage: app operation logs, feature usage history, crash/defect info.
  • Push notification token: an identifier for sending notifications (if permitted).
  • Billing info: purchase/subscription status. Payment information such as credit card numbers is processed by payment providers (Apple, etc.) and is not held by us.

3. Purposes of use

  1. To provide/operate the Service (including generating, saving, and group-sharing videos).
  2. To send push notifications.
  3. To process billing/payment and provide benefits/referral features.
  4. To investigate defects, provide support, and respond to inquiries.
  5. To improve quality and analyze usage.
  6. To prevent misuse and respond to Terms violations.

4. Third-party provision / outsourcing

We outsource data processing to the following providers within the scope necessary to provide the Service. Some place servers overseas.

  • Supabase — account authentication / metadata storage
  • Apple (Sign in with Apple) — sign-in authentication
  • Google (Google Sign-In) — sign-in authentication
  • Cloudflare R2 — storage of media such as videos and images
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS Lambda) — server-side video rendering
  • Google (Gemini) — AI processing for video editing
  • RevenueCat — billing/subscription management
  • Expo (Apple APNs) — sending push notifications
  • PostHog — usage analytics
  • Sentry — error/defect detection

Other than the above, we do not provide personal data to third parties without prior consent, except as required by law or to protect a person's life, body, or property.

5. Camera / microphone / photos access

The Service uses camera and microphone access to record video, and photo (media library) access to save created videos. These permissions can be changed anytime in device settings.

6. Retention / deletion

  1. We retain data for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
  2. When a user deletes their account, related data including videos and clips is cascade-deleted from servers. However, information legally required to be retained, or data in backups, may remain for a certain period.

7. Minors' personal information

We do not intentionally collect personal information from those under 13. We handle the personal information of users under 18 with particular care, limiting collection/use to the minimum necessary.

8. Security measures

We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal data and to otherwise manage it safely.

9. Overseas privacy laws

As the Service is intended for Japan, it does not comply with overseas privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

10. Disclosure / correction / suspension requests

Users may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion of their personal data under applicable law. Requests are accepted via the "Contact" desk.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may change this Policy in response to changes in law or the Service. Material changes are announced in the Service.
