Terms of Service

These Terms of Use ("Terms") set out the conditions for using "shoshin" ("the Service") provided by VAULT LLC ("we"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

Article 1 (Application). These Terms apply to all relations between users and us regarding the Service. We may amend these Terms; continued use after notice on this page constitutes agreement.

Article 2 (The Service). The Service is an app providing timers for zen practice (zazen, kinhin, samu, susokukan, sesshin) and an ensō journal. No account is required; sitting records, ensō and settings are stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy).

Article 3 (Users). Minors must obtain parental consent before use.

Article 4 (Fees). The Service has a free tier and paid plans (subscription and one-time purchase "Shoshin+"); contents and prices are shown in the app. The half-stick (20-minute) zazen timer remains free. Payment is processed via Apple In-App Purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal via device Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid plan unless cancelled before it ends. Refunds follow Apple's policies. We may change fees or plans with in-app notice.

Article 5 (Intellectual property). All IP in the Service and its design, images, sounds (rin, taku, ambience) and text belongs to us or the rightful owners. Zen phrases derive from classical sources; our translations and glosses belong to us.

Article 6 (Prohibited conduct). No copying, modification, reverse engineering or redistribution of the Service; no unlawful conduct; no interference with operations; no other conduct we reasonably deem inappropriate.

Article 7 (Health notice). The Service is a tool to support meditation practice and is not a substitute for medical, diagnostic, therapeutic or psychological care. If you have health concerns, consult a professional before use. You use the Service at your own discretion and risk.

Article 8 (Disclaimer). The Service is provided without warranty of any kind. Except in cases of our intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from the Service.

Article 9 (Changes to the Service). We may change, suspend or terminate the Service without prior notice and are not liable for resulting damages.

Article 10 (Governing law). These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan; the Tokyo District Court has exclusive first-instance jurisdiction.
