shoshin Privacy Policy

VAULT LLC ("we") sets out this Privacy Policy for the handling of user information in "shoshin" ("the Service").

1. Operator. VAULT LLC — Representative: Takumi Kawamori — Konotora Bldg. 7F, 1-1-14 Shimomeguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 153-0064, Japan.

2. Local-first. The Service stores your sitting records, ensō, totals and settings only on your device. We do not transmit or collect this data on any server. No account or sign-in is required.

3. Information processed. The only information processed off-device relates to purchases, the city coordinates used while "follow the weather" is on, and, if you contact us, your inquiry. Purchases: purchase/subscription status and an anonymous user identifier. Payment details are processed by Apple and never held by us; we do not receive your name or email for purchases. Inquiry info: if you contact us through the inquiry form, your email address, the type and content of the inquiry, attached images, and any device, OS, and app version you enter. Weather: while "follow the weather" is on in Settings (on by default; you can turn it off at any time), the app sends the coordinates of the city inferred from your device time zone (e.g. Asia/Tokyo → Tokyo) to the weather service Open-Meteo and receives the current weather. Your device location is never read. Only the city coordinates are sent; nothing identifies you. The weather is kept on the device and only tints the sky and ambience; it is never displayed or recorded. We do NOT collect location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, advertising identifiers or behavioural history. No analytics, no ads, no cross-app tracking.

4. Purposes. Providing and restoring the paid plan (Shoshin+); verifying purchases; responding to inquiries; tinting the sky to the day's weather while "follow the weather" is on.

5. Notifications. Local notifications only; their content never leaves the device.

6. Third parties / processors. Apple Inc. (In-App Purchase processing); RevenueCat, Inc. (purchase/subscription status with an anonymous identifier); Open-Meteo (current weather for a city, while "follow the weather" is on; city coordinates only, no location or identifier); Vercel (website delivery / processing of inquiry form submissions); Notion (recording inquiries and managing their status); Resend (sending inquiry notifications and confirmation emails); and Upstash (preventing repeated inquiry form submissions; keeps only a transformed value of the sender's IP address, for 10 minutes). No other third-party provision except as required by law.

7. Retention & deletion. On-device data is erased when you delete the app. Purchase information is retained per Apple's and RevenueCat's policies.

8. Minors. The Service is designed to collect no personal data and does not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

9. Security. We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss or damage of handled information.

10. Foreign privacy laws. The Service is operated under the laws of Japan. It is designed to collect almost no personal data; some processing (e.g. RevenueCat, Open-Meteo) may occur outside Japan and is handled per applicable law.

11. Requests. You may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use or deletion per applicable law via the contact page.

12. Changes. We may update this Policy; material changes will be announced on this page.
