TUMO Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Capturing and Pieces

Q. Are my photos saved anywhere?

No. Captured images are processed on your device solely to generate game pieces. In solo play they never leave your device. Only during online matches, the cut-out piece image is shown on your opponents' devices, but it is not stored on any server. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Q. The cut-out doesn't come out well

Shoot in a bright place, and pick an object that contrasts clearly with the background. Placing a single object on a desk or floor works best.

Q. What is a "junk block"?

A large block that appears when you don't take a photo within the time limit, or when what you shoot doesn't match the theme. Junk blocks are hard to stack on purpose, so try to shoot something that matches the theme before time runs out.

Q. I don't agree with a theme judgment

All judging runs automatically on your device. Color is judged by its area in the photo, shape by silhouette, and category (food, etc.) by image recognition. Lighting and background can affect the result.

Q. Why can't I shoot the same object twice in a row?

The App has a mechanism that prevents reusing the same subject. Find something else to shoot.

Friend Matches

Q. How do I play with friends?

From "With Friends" on the home screen, enter the same passphrase as your friends to join the same room (2–4 players). Once everyone is in, the host (the first player who joined) starts the match.

Q. How is the turn order decided?

It is decided completely at random among the participants when the match starts.

Q. What if an opponent sends an inappropriate image?

You can report it with the flag button at the top right of the match screen. If you also select "Block this player" when reporting, no match will start even if you end up in the same room again.

Q. What if an opponent stops responding mid-match?

A player who does not respond for a set period (45 seconds) is treated as having left, and the remaining players win.

Other

Q. Which languages and devices are supported?

Japanese, English, Chinese (Traditional), Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, and Indonesian. The App runs on camera-equipped devices with iOS 17 or later.

Q. I want to delete my data

Captured images, scores, and settings are stored only on your device, so deleting the App erases everything. To request deletion of report data, please contact us.
